Alcoholism and Drug Addiction is a disease which affects individuals from all backgrounds. Addiction does not discriminate against race, age, sex, or socioeconomic status. Most of us expect a report that will conclude with a pass or fail result. An alcohol and drug evaluation does not give you a grade. It is a simple assessment comprised of two testing tools. Evaluations could be court-mandated, required by a pretrial, probation, or parole officer. In some divorce cases, judges require both parties to undergo an alcohol and drug evaluation to determine placement for the children. The Department of Transportation (DOT), requires SAP evaluation when an employee tests positive during a random screening.
